No, we are not VAT registered, therefore do not charge VAT.
How long will it take to build my website?
We can generally expect to get your website up and running within 3 to 6 weeks.
Although this does depend on how complex the project is, but 3 to 6 weeks is standard.
A big factor is how fast you can get your content for the website over to us. If you have asked us to create the content for you, (written content for the website pages, about us, services you offer, images etc) as part of the project we will move quite quickly. Otherwise, it will depend on how quickly you can supply it to us.
What's included in Maintenance & Support?
Maintenance & Support plans include keeping your website in good working order, things like:
- Updating plugns.
- Troubleshooting if your website isn’t working, for whatever reason.
- There is a bug that is affecting speed or functionality
What's not included in Maintenance & Support?
These are the things that are not included in Maintenance & Support.
- Any additional developments for instance, extra added features or added design.
- Any structural changes to the original design.
- Any re-design work of the original design.
What do you charge for additional development?
That depends on the work. We can give you a custom quote on any work you like done.
What notice do I need to give to cancel my website and hosting?
Well, we’d be really sorry to see you go, but you are free to cancel at any time. As long as it’s before the next monthly payment is due you will not be charged any further.
What platform are your websites built on?
All of our websites are coded to latest industry standards and are (usually) built upon WordPress CMS.
We find this perfect in most cases as it’s an open source product. This means it’s fully secure and offers stability and is constantly being updated. You will also be able to change and update your website yourself, if you wanted to do so.
What is a Content Management System (CMS)?
Content Management System is also known as CMS, and what this does is it allows you to change images or text on your website by yourself via an admin panel, so a developer wouldn’t have to be involved.
Will my website work on a mobile phone or tablet computer?
Absolutely! Your website will work on mobile phones and tablets, as it will be built using responsive design. What this means is your website will look great on whatever size device your website is being viewed on.
Will my website work across all browsers?
Yes, your website will work great with all the latest versions of each of the browsers for instance, Google Chrome, Edge, Safari, Opera and Mozilla Firefox.
There is a limit on backwards compatibility, to last 2 major versions. Not to say the website won’t work on those, it’s just we cannot guarantee it.
Who hosts my website?
We can manage your hosting as part of our service, or you can arrange hosting for yourselves.
If you would like us to manage your website hosting for you, it’s important for you to know that we are not a hosting company and therefore do not host your websites ourselves and therefore cannot be held responsible for any issues that may arise from the hosting service.
We have procured a fully managed hosting service and resources with a very reputable UK Hosting company called GURU Cloud Hosting.
What this means is that we have expert support on hand 24/7 if any issues were to arise.
Is there a limit to how busy my website can get?
Our standard hosting service allows up to 10GB of website space and 100GB of bandwidth per month.
Which is more than enough for most websites.
However, if you need a more powerful server with more resources. Just contact us to discuss.
What about Security?
Your website’s security is something we take very seriously. It is why we use a premium hosting provider like Guru Clod hosting.
That provides:
- Secure U.K. Data Centre
- Live Security Updates
- Web Application Firewall (WAF)
- 24/7 Technical Support
How do I setup my e-mails?
We’ll give you all the settings you need, the mail server, username and password. If you need some additional help, then we’ve recorded these videos for you, or contact us if you need us to setup your email for you on your device.
Are websites backed up?
All your website files and databases are fully backed up to a remote location every day. So if a “disaster” were to strike, we can restore the website.
If you need more recovery points (Say Hourly), let us know, and we can discuss the customised hosting requirements for you.
Who owns the website?
You. Once we have completed the work on your website, and you’ve paid in full, you own the website.
So you are free to move the website to another hosting provider or website management service.
There may be times when third party plugins have been installed, that may be a subscription service, that you would then have to pay if you wish to continue to use.
